Urticaria and pruritus = MAST CELL mediated, which is treated like a standard allergic reaction. Without the C1 inhibitor, the plasma-kallikrein-kinin system produces more bradykinin. Understanding the cause of angioedema (mast cell vs. bradykinin mediated) helps dictate directed management.
