I saw our shiny new MICU vehicles become like us. Worse, our moral injury would increase when during these “high volume” periods you would hear a BLS unit begin on the radio for any help with a sick person who needed an airway, or a pediatric near-drowning…and getting none. Scarred, scratched up, dented, and check engine lights on.
