So if anyone can clarify this for me, My understanding after leaving the test is, we're supposed to apply flat text book answers to these scenarios where in real world scenarios we'd likely do it a lot differently? If that's the case, I'll try to mesh with the tests mindset better next time.

That’s how I learned about precepting paramedic and EMT students. All the book knowledge in the world is useless if you cannot on produce that knowledge you’re learning on demand. Students who are motivated to do well, with self-confidence, and low anxiety tend to do better in paramedic or EMT training than those who don’t.
