When you are doing CPR and running cardiac arrests on a regular basis, it seems unnecessary to sit through a 2 hour class on CPR and 4 hour classes on ACLS and PALS. Drug-induced QT interval cannot be completely ruled out, but the tox consult found the she had definitely not overdosed and did not believe that therapeutic doses would do this. This is pathognomonic of hyperkalemia (I suppose it could be due to a massive overdose of a sodium channel blocking drug, maybe). A prehospital ECG was recorded: Limb leads: Precordial Leads What is the therapy? Is it ventricular tachycardia (VT) due to hyperK or is it a supraventricular rhythm with hyperK? Is 40 mEq too much?
