Febrile seizure is one of the common presentations in the paediatric ED, causing significant parental anxiety (especially following the first episode). There is a 1:3 or 30% risk of recurrence of the febrile convulsions and occur within 2 years of the first episode. It occurs in children between 6 months to 6 years of age.
