Naloxone (opioid antidote) should be available in ED in case of severe respiratory depression. They should be admitted to hospital in case of clinical deterioration to receive ICU treatment. This treatment is usually done in the ICU setting. Monitor vital signs for respiratory depression. A newer therapy option is ketamine.
