The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reported that in 2020, there were 676,900 volunteer firefighters in the U.S. This is compared to 897,750 in 1984, the first year the NFPA began tracking this number. The NFPA Fire Department Profile for 2020 found that 50% of all firefighters are between the ages of 30 and 49 years old.

The department only has two sets of gear that are NFPA compliant. The department has achieved a lot over the past months, including public fire prevention education, restoration of the fire station, cleaning the community park, and working on a Firewise awareness project to reduce wildfire risks.
