I have attended many seminars and read many papers on this topic, and despite believing this is an essential role in medical education, I still fail routinely. There appears to be wide agreement that we are not good at providing feedback in medicine. I have received a lot of advice.
I go to a lot of outside trainings, seminars and conferences, and I find it very concerning that I dont see many chiefs or officers there. They expect more from you than just checking boxes on fireground training. And how can you provide substantial training if you arent training yourselves?
